116 PESSOAS O concurso intitulava-se “Mais vale perder um minuto na vida, do que a vida num minuto! - Um desafio de todos para uma melhor prática rodoviária” e foi promovido com o objectivo de sensibilizar os estudantes do ensino superior para a problemática da Educação, Segurança e Prevenção Rodoviárias, através da elaboração de trabalhos temáticos e destinava-se aos estudantes a frequentar qualquer curso do ensino superior, com idades entre os 18 e os 30 anos. Considerou-se que o trabalho a desenvolver naquele âmbito era adequado aos objectivos da unidade curricular, proporcionando às alunas uma modalidade de aprendizagem e de avaliação mais motivadora e inovadora, que simultaneamente se enquadrava no domínio de investigação de interesse da docente. O trabalho realizado pelo grupo teve como título, “Os condutores jovens entre excesso de velocidade e condução sob a influência do álcool: motivações, influência dos outros e controlo sobre o comportamento” e foi desenvolvido de Fevereiro a Abril de 2010. Dos resultados encontrados, constatou-se, por exemplo, que os comportamentos mais praticados pelos condutores e condutoras, nos últimos 6 meses (relativos à data de recolha de informação), eram o excesso de velocidade e falar ao telemóvel durante a condução. Homens e mulheres consideraram a condução sob a influência do álcool como o comportamento de maior risco e aquele que afirmavam realizar menos vezes. O excesso de velocidade era atribuído, por exemplo, à falta de tempo e à “adrenalina” e a condução sob a influência do álcool era atribuída, por exemplo, a não querer ir a pé para casa e a não querer gastar dinheiro com o táxi para regressar a casa, depois de beber. Outro resultado, que corrobora as evidências de outras investigações, mostrou que os condutores se avaliavam, tendencialmente, como bons condutores e, comparativamente aos outros condutores, como melhores. Como resultado desta participação, foi atribuído ao grupo de trabalho o 3.º lugar no concurso e o prémio pecuniário de 1.500 euros, entregue numa Cerimónia realizada a 19 de Novembro de 2010, no Instituto Superior Técnico, em Lisboa. Prémio “Sollari Allegro” entregue a docente da UFP Tendo como júri o Presidente do Conselho de Administração do Centro Hospitalar do Porto, o Director Clínico, o Enfermeiro Director, o Director do DEFI - Departamento de Ensino e The competition was entitled “Better to lose a minute of your life, than to lose your life in a minute! - A challenge of all for better driver safety habits” and it aimed to raise awareness among higher education students about the issue of Driver Education, Safety and Prevention, through the preparation of projects on this subject. Candidates were students from any higher education course, aged between 18 and 30. It was considered that the project matched the objectives of the course unit, providing students with a form of learning and assessment that was more motivational and innovative, while simultaneously fitting in with the research interests of the lecturer. The project prepared by the group was entitled “Young drivers between excess speed and driving under the influence of alcohol: motivations, influences and control over conduct” and was carried out from February to April 2010. The results showed, for example, that most common conducts by drivers in the last 6 months (prior to the date the information was gathered) were excess speed and using a mobile phone while driving. Males and females considered driving under the influence of alcohol to be the conduct posing greatest risk and the conduct that they said they engaged in least. Excess speed was attributed, for example, to a lack of time and to “adrenalin” and driving under the influence of alcohol was attributed, for example, to not wanting to walk home and no wanting to spend money on a taxi to return home, after drinking. Another result, which confirmed the evidence of other research, showed that drivers considered themselves good drivers and better than other drivers. Formação, o Presidente da Comissão de Bolsas e Prémios, um representante da Comissão Científica e um representante do ICBAS-UP, foi atribuído à docente da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da UFP, Mestre Ana Mota, o Prémio “Sollari Allegro – Trabalho de Investigação”. Este prémio visa incentivar as actividades de ensino formação e investigação, no Centro Hospitalar do Porto. No caso da docente da UFP, a atribuição deste prémio teve por base um artigo publicado em 2009 no “Journal of Medical Virology”, subordinado ao tema: “Epidemiological study of genotypes of hepatitis B virus in Northern Portugal”. É também o reconhecimento, quer do trabalho de investigação desenvolvida pela docente, na área de investigação do seu Doutoramento (genótipos do vírus da hepatite B no norte de Portugal), quer o seu percurso nas àreas de ensino e formação. A entrega deste galardão será brevemente agendada pelo Conselho de Administração do Centro Hospitalar do Porto. Melhor comunicação em Congresso de Odontopediatria O Dr. Pedro Hugo Cruz Carneiro, licenciado em Medicina Dentária pela Universidade Fernando Pessoa (UFP) em 2009, recebeu o prémio de melhor comunicação oral com o trabalho “Cárie Dentária em Crianças com Excesso de Peso e Obesidade” na 1ª Reunião Ibérica de Odontopediatria/XXXII Reunião Anual da Sociedade Espanhola de Odontopediatria/I Reunião Anual da Sociedade Portuguesa de Odontopediatria (20-22 de Maio, 2010, Porto), promovido pela Sociedade Portuguesa de Odontopediatria. PEOPlE 117 Department Director (TTD), the Grants and Prizes Committee Chairman, a representative from the Scientific Committee and a representative from ICBAS-UP, the “Sollari Allegro – Trabalho de Investigação” Prize (‘Sollari Allegro Research Prize’) was awarded to UFP Health Sciences teacher, Ana Mota. The prize aims to encourage teaching, training and research at Porto Hospital Centre. For this UFP faculty member, the prize was awarded based on an article published in 2009 in the ‘Journal of Medical Virology’, entitled: ‘Epidemiological study of genotypes of hepatitis B virus in Northern Portugal’. It also recognises both the faculty member’s research work in her Doctorate field (hepatitis B virus genotypes in Northern Portugal), and her work in the fields of teaching and training. The presentation of this award will be scheduled soon by Porto Hospital’s Board of Directors. Best paper at Paediatric Dentistry Conference Pedro Hugo Cruz Carneiro, who graduated from University Fernando Pessoa (UFP) in Dental Medicine in 2009, received a prize for the best paper with “Dental Caries in Overweight and Obese Children” at the 1st Iberian Meeting of Paediatric Dentistry /XXXII Annual Meeting of the Spanish Society of Paediatric Dentistry /I Annual Meeting of the Portuguese Society of Paediatric Dentistry (20-22 May, 2010, Porto), organised by the Portuguese Society of Paediatric Dentistry.
