Robótica, Second Life e Espaços Inteligentes:
- O grupo de I&D ISUS (Intelligent Sensing and Ubiquitous Systems
http://isus.ufp.pt) da UFP repetiu a sua colaboração em
diversas iniciativas do programa Ciência Viva, propondo diferentes
The University offered students particularly comprehensive internships
that included work in the area of pathological anatomy
and microbiology, in the reconstruction of family trees, in experimental
psychology and in robotics.
This initiative, funded by the National Agency for Scientific and
Technological Culture, provided students with an initial contact
with University Higher Education and an opportunity for close
contact with Scientific and Technological Research that takes
place here. It was a great success and received a very positive
response from students, with regard to both the internships and
to UFP teaching staff.
Psychology:
- The “Psychology Laboratory – An analysis of thought” initiative
was intended to provide young people with a broad insight into
psychology from an experimental viewpoint, with contact with
different research procedures. The young participants were also
offered an opportunity to acquire empirical knowledge of the
care required in setting up experiments, in data recording and in
the analysis and interpretation of results.
- The interest raised by this internship and high demand justified
its reorganisation to receive more students than initially planned,
and young people from Leiria, Paredes, Porto, Rio Tinto, São
Mamede de Infesta, Setúbal and Vila Nova de Gaia participated.
Robotics, Second Life and Intelligent Spaces:
- The ISUS R&D group (Intelligent Sensing and Ubiquitous Systems
http://isus.ufp.pt) of UFP repeated its collaboration with
various Living Science programme initiatives, proposing various
initiatives that help to disseminate and attract young people to
science and research carried out in Portugal.
- Firstly, the group devised and organised, in July 2010 the
“Robotics and Second Life” week under the “Scientific Activity in the
