Dizem que aquilo que a natureza dá define a gastronomia da região.<br />

E a Madeira não é excepção. A existência da Laurissilva reflecte-se<br />

nas suas típicas espetadas em pau de louro, presentes numa ementa<br />

bastante ecléctica que só fica completa quando acompanhada por<br />

um vinho único, de produção local, seguido de um dos inúmeros doces<br />

e frutas exóticas que aqui têm origem.<br />

It is said that what Nature gives defines the gastronomy of a region.<br />

Madeira is no exception to this. The existence if the Laurissilva is reflected<br />

in its typical meat on a laurel spit, present in a rather eclectic choice<br />

of dishes that is only complete when accompanied by a unique,<br />

locally produced wine, and followed by one of the innumerable pastries<br />

and locally-grown exotic fruits.
