garante.
rough finish, unlike the current diecast molding system.
Reproducing this model exactly with a sandcast
engine was the objective of entrepreneur Marcello Tah
when he acquired the 1969 CB 750. “It’s the only one
in South America and one of the few in Latin America,”
he says. In acquiring the bike, apart from the frame
and engine, a few parts were used, all the non-original
that left the factory came from other nearby numbered
bikes. “It took me two years to complete. I did a lot of
research and participated in many auctions on Ebay,”
he explains.
The most interesting thing is that for Marcello, the
therapy – as he calls it – looking for parts and gradually
building your own copy that even includes an original
owner’s manual, is more enjoyable than riding around
on these toys.
Other curiosities of the bike are: the painting called
Candy Blue Green varies from blue to green depending
on the daylight; the headlight, itself, is from a 1969, and
Marcello has another in a box, stored for replacement.
“There is an Internet site that features 300 registered
motorcycles, where other crazies for perfection can
exchange information and share old magazines and
catalogs that are essential for a restoration to be perfect,”
he says.
