O SIMOVALE TAMBÉM ASSINOU, EM 2017, UM
TERMO DE PARCERIA COM A PREFEITURA DE CHA-
PECÓ (SC) PARA A REALIZAÇÃO DA 10º EDIÇÃO DA
MERCOMÓVEIS QUE ACONTECERÁ NA CIDADE EM
AGOSTO. COMO FUNCIONA ESSA PARCERIA?
É uma parceria de longa data. A prefeitura acaba
contribuindo enormemente para a realização do evento
e temos um cenário desenhado para que esse nosso
acordo com a Prefeitura de Chapecó continue ainda por
mais quatro ou cinco edições. A MercoMóveis é a nossa
vitrine, movimentando e muito a economia da região. Ela
é voltada principalmente para os associados e a indústria
da região para poder mostrar o produto catarinense para
o Brasil e para o mundo.
A MERCOMÓVEIS É UMA OPORTUNIDADE PARA
QUE EMPRESÁRIOS, LOJISTAS, EXPOSITORES E
VISITANTES DE TODO O PAÍS POSSAM CONHECER
DE PERTO O MERCADO MOVELEIRO DO OESTE
DE SANTA CATARINA. QUAL É A IMPORTÂNCIA DO
EVENTO PARA A INDÚSTRIA DA REGIÃO?
É de fundamental importância. Qualquer evento que
realizamos em Chapecó acaba repercutindo em toda a
região, ainda mais em uma feira com a amplitude da Mercomóveis,
que é um evento que não repercute somente
em Chapecó, mas em todos os municípios da região, pois
o Simovale abrange 83 cidades do oeste catarinense, então
procuramos buscar parceiros em fábricas locais.
A SIMOVALE TEM SIDO CRÍTICA À DECISÃO DOS
DEPUTADOS ESTADUAIS DE REJEITAR A MEDIDA
PROVISÓRIA 220, QUE PROMOVIA UMA REDUÇÃO
DA ALÍQUOTA DE ICMS PARA INDÚSTRIA E ATACA-
DISTAS, MAS ONERAVA O COMÉRCIO VAREJISTA.
COMO ESSA DECISÃO AFETA A INDÚSTRIA DE MÓ-
VEIS NO PAÍS?
Para a empresa que atua regionalmente, essa decisão
acaba prejudicando e muito a produção. Brigamos não
somente pela redução da tarifa no Estado, mas também
pela unificação dessa tarifa em nível nacional.

TARINA BEGAN 2018 WITH A HIGH DEGREE OF CON-
FIDENCE, DESPITE THE POLITICAL TURMOIL. WHAT IS
THE PROJECTION OF SIMOVALE FOR THE FURNITURE
INDUSTRY IN THE COMING YEARS?
Mostly, I imagine that 2018 will be a year when the industry
seeks to survive. Avoid suffering risks. I think right
now that it’s hard to project for the next few years because
a lot depends on the political scene, the results of the election
that takes place in October. So right now, I find it hard
to believe that any companies are planning to make any
major investments. I think that if any are, they are isolated
cases but do not reflect the overall panorama for the Sector.
IN 2017, SIMOVALE SIGNED A PARTNERSHIP
AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF CHAPECÓ FOR THE
10TH MERCOMÓVEIS THAT WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE
CITY IN AUGUST. WHAT DOES THIS PARTNERSHIP IN-
CLUDE?
It is a long-standing partnership. The City ends up contributing
greatly to the event, and we have a scenario designed
so that our agreement with Chapecó will continue for
another four or five editions of the Fair. MercoMóveis is our
showcase, and for that of the Region’s economy. It is dedicated
mainly to the members and the industry in the region
to present the products from the State of Santa Catarina to
Brazil and to the world.
MERCOMÓVEIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR
ENTREPRENEURS, STOREOWNERS, EXHIBITORS, AND
VISITORS FROM ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TO GET TO
KNOW THE FURNITURE MARKET IN THE WEST OF
STATE OF SANTA CATARINA. WHAT IS THE IMPOR-
TANCE OF THE EVENT FOR THE INDUSTRY IN THE
REGION?
It is of fundamental importance. Any event that we hold
in Chapecó ends up affecting the whole Region, especially
in a market with the breadth of MercoMóveis. Such an event
affects not only Chapecó but all the municipalities in the
Region, because Simovale covers83 cities in Western Santa
Catarina, so we’re seeking out partners in local factories.
SIMOVALE HAS BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN THE
DECISION OF STATE DEPUTIES IN REJECTING THE
PROVISIONAL MEASURE 220, WHICH PROMOTED
A REDUCTION IN THE STATE SALES TAX RATE FOR
INDUSTRY AND WHOLESALERS, BUT RETAIL TRADE
CONTINUED WITH A HIGHER RATE. HOW THIS DE-
CISION AFFECTS THE FURNITURE INDUSTRY IN THE
COUNTRY?
For the companies that operate regionally, this decision
ends up hurting production, a lot. We fought not only by
the reduction of the tax rate in the State, but also the unification
of this rate at the national level.
