The west coast of Jericoacoara also has its beauties
and it is worth making this tour. It usually includes
Mangue Seco, the Guriú River, the Village of Tatajuba,
the Funil Dune and the Torta Lagoon.
You will need a full day to make the whole tour and
truly enjoy a little of the charm of each place.
THE CROSSING OF GURIÚ RIVER
A little further on, you get to Guriú River, where the
vehicles are placed on a small ferry and you can cross
it. Interestingly, to this day, boaters still do this service
manually, using a wooden pole to push the ferry to the
other shore.
MANGUE SECO BEACH
About 5km away from Jeri, Mangue Seco
is the first stop of the tour. The landscape
is curious, white sands amidst a small
forest with dry twisted trees. Along the
way, some beach kiosks offer seafood,
coconut water, etc. You can also have
some information about the boat trip
on the Camboa River to see the exotic
seahorses up close. The boatmen use
bowls to show the seahorses before
returning them to their natural habitat.
It is an interesting and curious experience,
particularly for children or those people
who have never had contact with such
delicate animals.
