Jericoacoara is located approximately 300 km
from Fortaleza in the far west of the State of
Ceará, in the city of Jijoca de Jericoacoara*, and
it is within the perimeter of the National Park of
Jericoacoara**. It is, therefore, a permanent
environmental preservation area and a stay
rate is charged at the place.
*Jijoca de Jericoacoara is the northernmost
municipality in the state of Ceará.
**The Jericoacoara National Park is located in
the municipalities of Jijoca de Jericoacoara,
Cruz and Camocim, on the west coast of
Ceará, Brazil. It has an area of 8,850 hectares.
The park has a perimeter of 49,929.4 meters.
It is administered by the Chico Mendes Institute for
Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio).
Since September 21, 2017, the municipal government
of Jijoca de Jericoacoara has imposed a stay rate
(“Sustainable Tourism Fee”) of five reais (R$ 5.00 BRL)
per day, to all visitors aged between 13 and 59 years
(except the physically disabled). To access the ticket:

Obtain the ticket and the lodging voucher at https://
speedgov.com.br/satjij/servlet/gerataxatur2
Print and take the paid ticket and voucher with you.
Submit them upon check-in.
At checkout, you will have the voucher slip back to
return it to the service station at the entrance of the
village.
* If you exceed the expected length of stay, you will
need to pay for a new ticket.
For payment in Jericoacoara, there are two options:
A payment center in the center of Jijoca
A service station at the entrance to the village.

GBSJ advises you to pay in advance to avoid queues.
HOW TO GET TO JERICOACOARA
BY AIR:
With the opening of the airport of Jericoacoara, the
trip can be made in 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the
type of aircraft, which can range from large aircrafts
to small airplanes and helicopters on chartered
panoramic flights.
