increasingly better experience for all tourists coming
to Jeri”, said secretary Ricardo Gusso Wagner, who is
also the president of the Municipal Council of Tourism
(COMTUR).
We have imposed a “Sustainable Tourism Fee” (TTS),
which is already charged in other tourist destinations
in Brazil, and 100% of the revenue are invested in
the municipality, and we have set up COGETUR, the
committee responsible for managing the sustainable
tourism fee. This committee is made up of 14
institutions, which analyses and approve the projects
submitted. We are also implementing the “Voucher
Único de Transporte” (Single Transport Voucher), for
greater control and reduction of queues and traffic
within the village.
In addition to all this, Ricardo is also working on the
registration of Jericoacoara for the international
beach certification Blue Flag*. Our friend has also had
time to support some sports events such the 21k run,
the Jeri Cultura Longboard Festival, among others.
“Our intention is to be the first beach in Ceará to be
awarded the Blue Flag certification, and be an example
to the other municipalities”, highlights Ricardo.

The Blue Flag Program aims to raise the citizens and
decision-makers’ awareness of the need to protect
the marine and coastal environment, as well as to
encourage actions leading to the resolution of existing
conflicts. The Blue Flag Program is operated under
