RESUMO Aconstante busca por excelência tecnológica tem levado empresas, pesquisadores e governos a procurarem soluções sustentáveis tanto em termos econômicos quanto ambientais. Aerogéis de nanocelulose combinam as características ímpares de ambos os materiais. Os aerogéis são materiais sólidos porosos derivados de um gel, no qual o líquido é substituído por um gás, que possuem baixíssima densidade, alta porosidade e elevada área superficial específica. Já a celulose é o biopolímero mais abundante da Terra e possui características notáveis como atoxicidade, baixo custo e o fato de ser ambientalmente amigável, o que faz que, juntos, possam ser aplicados com diferentes propósitos. A lignina é um dos três principais constituintes de uma planta. They have a very low density, high porosity, and high specific surface area. On the other hand, cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer on Earth. It has remarkable characteristics such as non-toxicity, low cost, and being environmentally friendly, which means they can be applied together for different purposes.
