który zadbał o oprawę muzyczną inauguracji.<br />
Wydarzenie było transmitowane<br />

Uroczystość odnowienia doktoratu<br />
prof. Andrzeja Stanisława<br />
Barczaka<br />
Inauguracji towarzyszyła uroczystość<br />
odnowienia doktoratu prof. Barczaka.<br />
Jej główna część odbyła się<br />
bezpośrednio po uroczystej immatrykulacji.<br />
Poprowadziła ją prof. Barbara<br />
Kos – prorektor ds. nauki i kadry<br />
akademickiej.<br />
Głos zabrali także kolejno: dziekan<br />
Wydziału Zarządzania prof. Krystyna<br />
Jędralska, która przedstawiła informacje<br />
o doktoracie nadanym w 1967 roku<br />
oraz przebiegu postępowania w sprawie<br />
odnowienia doktoratu; prof. Józef<br />
Biolik, który wygłosił laudację na cześć<br />
prof. Barczaka. Następnie wystąpił sam<br />
jubilat, który opowiedział o swoich<br />
początkach na uczelni i obronie rozprawy<br />
doktorskiej pt. „Ekonometryczna<br />
analiza kosztów produkcji na przykładzie<br />
przemysłu piwowarsko-słodowniczego”.<br />
W przemówieniu wielokrotnie<br />
wspomniał swojego mistrza i promotora<br />
prof. Zbigniewa Pawłowskiego.<br />
Jubilat mówił również o przyjaźniach,<br />
szacunku oraz szczęściu, które towarzyszy<br />
mu przez całe życie, a także o wolności,<br />
którą osobiście znalazł w nauce,<br />
górach, muzyce i sztuce. Swoje wystąpienie<br />
zakończył cytatem „Tempus<br />
omnia revelat” [czas wszystko odsłania].<br />
Z okazji uroczystego odnowienia<br />
doktoratu wydana została specjalna<br />
jubileuszowa publikacja.<br />

Wojciech Gamrot and Tomasz Żądło<br />
delivered the inaugural lecture entitled<br />
“Applications of point estimation”.<br />
The inauguration ceremony closed with<br />
the screening of a short film presenting<br />
fragments of Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana”<br />
sung by 200 artists in January 2017<br />
to mark our University’s 80 th anniversary,<br />
followed by songs performed by the<br />
University Choir who provided the musical<br />
setting for the event. The ceremony<br />
was covered live and can be watched<br />
on the university youtube channel.<br />
Renewal of the doctorate held<br />
by Prof. Andrzej Stanisław<br />
Barczak<br />
One of the highlights of the academic<br />
year inauguration was the ceremony<br />
of renewing the doctorate held by Prof.<br />
Barczak, conducted by Prof. Barbara Kos,<br />
Vice-Rector for Science and Academic<br />
Affairs. Also speaking at the ceremony<br />
was Prof. Krystyna Jędralska, Dean of<br />
the Department of Management, who<br />
presented the details of the doctorate<br />
awarded to Prof. Barczak in 1967 and<br />
gave an account of the doctoral renewal<br />
procedure. Prof. Biolik made the laudatory<br />
speech for the renewed doctorate<br />
holder; finally, Prof. Barczak himself<br />
recalled his first years at the University<br />
and talked about his PhD dissertation<br />
entitled “Ekonometryczna analiza kosztów<br />
produkcji na przykładzie przemysłu<br />
piwowarsko-słodowniczego” [“Econometric<br />
analysis of production costs in<br />
the beer malting industry”]. On several<br />
occasions in his speech, Prof. Barczak<br />
recalled his mentor and PhD supervisor<br />
Prof. Zbigniew Pawłowski. He also talked<br />
about his friendships, respect, the luck<br />
and happiness that had accompanied<br />
him throughout his life, and the freedom<br />
that he found in science, music, art and<br />
the mountains. Prof. Barczak concluded<br />
with the quote “Tempus omnia revelat”<br />
[“Time reveals everything”]. His doctorate<br />
renewal will be further celebrated with<br />
a special commemorative publication.
