Drodzy Czytelnicy!
Kiedyś zapewne wydawał się ikoną nowoczesności.
Potem stał się normalnym, co prawda szarym, ale
otoczonym kwitnącymi (i nieodżałowanymi) drzewami
budynkiem. Wreszcie miał swoje pięć minut
jako bohater internetowych memów. Rozstajemy
się dziś na łamach „Forum” z budynkiem D. Ale to
rozstanie to przecież także początek zapowiadanego
nowego otwarcia. I niech tak będzie, nawet jeśli łza
się czasem w oku kręci. Bo przyznam Państwu, że
wspomnień związanych z tym budynkiem mam co
niemiara. Podobnie jak osoby dzielące się swoimi
przeżyciami na kolejnych stronach biuletynu.
Numer rozpoczynamy jednak najważniejszą dla
naszej uczelni informacją ostatnich miesięcy.
Chwalimy się świetnymi wynikami w ocenie parametrycznej
działalności naukowej. Przyglądamy się
polityce naukowej władz na drugą połowę kadencji
2016–2020. No i – co chyba najciekawsze – prezentujemy
doniesienia z aktualnie realizowanych
dużych projektów naukowych. Można powiedzieć,
że tych kilka stron tekstu mimo wszystko pokazuje
tylko wierzchołek góry lodowej. Bez dobrej pozycji
naukowej nie byłoby przecież tak wielu konferencji,
nagród, sieci naukowych, projektów – o których jak
zawsze można przeczytać w „Forum”.
W tym roku biuletyn zawitał do Państwa po raz
pierwszy u progu wiosny. I tak już pozostanie. Zmieniamy
nasz cykl wydawniczy. Kolejny, 47. numer
tradycyjnie wydamy z okazji inauguracji roku akademickiego,
jednak numery parzyste będą ukazywały
się w marcu. Życzę wobec tego Państwu wiele
wiosennej radości. Przeżywajcie ją także w murach
naszej Alma Mater!

From the editor
Dear Readers,
Years ago, it aspired to be an icon of modernity.
Then, it was just an ordinary building, grey yet surrounded
by trees in blossom (missed deeply now).
Finally, it enjoyed its 15 minutes of fame as a character
in Internet memes. Today, on the pages of
the “Forum” we bid farewell to building D. Saying
goodbye to the old, however, we are greeting
the new. Let it be then, albeit with a tear in our
eye. I do have to admit I have quite a few memories
about this building. So do others who share theirs
on the next pages.
The issue opens with the most important news for
our university in recent months. We take pride
in our excellent results of the parametric evaluation
of research activity. We have a closer look at
the authorities’ research policy for the second half
of the 2016–2020 term. Finally – this is probably
the most exciting – we present large research projects
currently underway. You could argue though
that these few pages reveal only the tip of the iceberg.
Were it not for the good research position,
we would not have so many conferences, awards,
research networks, projects, which are, as usual,
covered in the “Forum”.
This year, our bulletin has, for the first time, arrived
on the cusp of spring. From now on, it always will.
We are changing our publication cycle. The next,
47 th issue will be published traditionally on the inauguration
of the academic year, but the even-numbered
issues will be released in March. So, let me
wish you spring joy! And let us share it within the
walls of our Alma Mater!
