Komitet Ewaluacji Jednostek<br />
Naukowych ocenił jakość działalności<br />
naukowej i badawczo-rozwojowej jednostek<br />
naukowych. Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny<br />
w Katowicach odnotował wyraźny wzrost. Spośród<br />
czterech ocenianych wydziałów aż trzem przyznano<br />
kategorię A, jednemu kategorię B. O pozycji naukowej<br />
uniwersytetu z prof. Barbarą Kos, prorektor ds. nauki<br />
i kadry akademickiej, rozmawia Marcin Baron.<br />
The Committee for Evaluation of Scientific Units<br />
evaluated the quality of scientific, research and<br />
development activities of our faculties. The University<br />
of Economics in Katowice has had its standing<br />
improved significantly. Out of the four facilities under<br />
evaluation, three were awarded category A, while one –<br />
category B. Marcin Baron is talking to Prof. Barbara<br />
Kos, Vice-Rector for Science and Academic Affairs,<br />
about the University’s position in research and science.<br />

podejmowanych działań<br />
pozwoliła na wytyczenie pewnego<br />
kierunku prac. Ta strategia<br />
okazała się słuszna i przyniosła<br />
podwyższenie jakości<br />
prowadzonych badań, co znalazło<br />
przełożenie w przyznanych<br />
kategoriach naukowych.<br />

of Economics. Three of the faculties<br />

A, one – category B. What<br />
constitutes our research and<br />
scientific strength?<br />
BK: Science and research<br />
management has been one<br />
of the main tasks since the<br />
very beginning of my term in<br />
office. Although the goal was<br />
not clearly defined by the Ministry<br />
of Science and Higher<br />
Education, the analysis of its<br />
initiatives allowed us to adopt<br />
a certain direction. The strategy<br />
has turned out to be the<br />
right one as it has led to better<br />
quality of research pursued<br />
here, which has translated<br />
into the categories<br />
assigned to our faculties. The<br />
criteria adopted in the evaluation<br />
of scientific units reward<br />
the improved publishing practices<br />
of researchers, successful<br />

atrakcyjności warunków pracy<br />
i rozwoju kariery naukowców<br />
w Unii Europejskiej. Przyznawane<br />

pracy naukowcom oraz prowadzą<br />
procesy rekrutacyjne<br />
w sposób przejrzysty i zgodny<br />
z wytycznymi Europejskiej<br />
Karty Naukowca i Kodeksu<br />
Postępowania przy rekrutacji<br />
pracowników naukowych.<br />
26 października 2017 roku<br />
rektor prof. Robert Tomanek<br />
podpisał deklarację poparcia<br />
dla zasad i zaleceń przyjętych<br />
w Europejskiej Karcie<br />
Naukowca i Kodeksie Postępowania<br />
przy rekrutacji pracowników<br />
naukowych. Po miesiącu<br />
uniwersytet otrzymał odpowiedź<br />
Komisji Europejskiej,<br />
która uznaje deklarację i zachęca<br />
do kontynuowania procedury<br />
wdrożeniowej zasad Karty<br />
i Kodeksu. 15 grudnia 2017<br />
roku ogłoszone zostało zarządzenie<br />
rektora w sprawie powołania<br />
Zespołu ds. Wdrożenia<br />
Europejskiej Karty Naukowca<br />
i Kodeksu Postępowania przy<br />
rekrutacji pracowników naukowych<br />
w Uniwersytecie Ekonomicznym<br />
w Katowicach. Zespół<br />
rozpoczął starania o uzyskanie<br />
logo.<br />
HR Excellence in Research Logo<br />
is a prestigious distinction that<br />
aims to improve the attractiveness<br />
of working conditions and<br />
career opportunities for researchers<br />
in the European Union. It is<br />
awarded to institutions that create<br />
excellent working conditions<br />
for researchers and apply recruitment<br />
procedures in the way that<br />
is transparent and compliant with<br />
the guidelines of the European<br />
Charter of Researchers and the<br />
Code of Conduct for the Recruitment<br />
of Researchers.<br />
On 26 October 2017, the rector<br />
Prof. Robert Tomanek signed<br />
the declaration of endorsement<br />
for the principles and guidelines<br />
adopted in the European Charter<br />
for Researchers and the Code of<br />
Conduct for the Recruitment of<br />
Researchers. A month later, the<br />
university received the official<br />
reply from the European Commission,<br />
which acknowledged<br />
the declaration and supported<br />
the continued implementation<br />
of the principles outlined in the<br />
Charter and Code. On 15 December<br />
2017, the rector’s resolution<br />
established a Team for the Implementation<br />
of the European Charter<br />
for Researchers and the Code<br />
of Conduct for the Recruitment<br />
of Researchers at the University<br />
of Economics in Katowice. The<br />
team initiated the logo application<br />
procedure.
