Odbyłem w niej ich bardzo wiele o charakterze
naukowym, a także towarzyskim,
przy obowiązkowej kawie. Najważniejsze
dla mnie spotkanie w tej kawiarence to
świętowanie w lutym 2009 roku moich
70. urodzin, na którym było wiele osób
z uczelni i spoza niej.
Tak więc starzałem się razem z uczelnią
i budynkiem D. Dobrze będę wspominał
czas pracy w tym budynku. Byłem z nim
od początku aż do jego końca. Na ogół
budowle trwają dłużej niż życie człowieka,
ale czasem jest odwrotnie.

Moja historia związana jest z budynkiem
D od początku lat 90. Pamiętam początek
studiów i „polowanie” na miejsce
w starym Amicusie. Pamiętam pomieszczenie
pełne dymu, dziwnych foteli,
panią w okienku lekko skrzywioną i kawę
w szklance, oczywiście z fusami. Wszyscy
tam byli, często była to dobra alternatywa
dla zajęć. Studia przeszły w pracę
i stałam się już permanentnym bywalcem
budynku. Mój pierwszy pokój 208.
Byłam strasznie dumna, iż udało się wcisnąć
moje odrapane biurko wsparte na
cegle jako czwarte do małego pokoiku.
I tu zaczyna się prawdziwa „relacja”…
mroźne zimy i upalne lata. System wentylacji
budynku pełnił głównie rolę pudła
rezonansowego, więc trudno było zachować
jakąkolwiek prywatność. Każde spotkanie,
telefon, a także zajęcia w pokoju
209 były publiczne. Nikomu to jednak
nie przeszkadzało. Taki był budynek D.
W moich wspomnieniach ten budynek to
jednak głównie ludzie. Profesor Teodor
Kramer, będący dobrym duchem marketingu,
zatopiony w długich dyskusjach na
korytarzu. Profesor Kornelia Karcz, elegancka
i ciepła w relacjach ze wszystkimi,
budująca pierwsze kontakty międzynarodowe
uczelni. Profesor Zofia Kędzior,
dynamiczna osobowość z milionem
pomysłów i oczywiście prof. Leszek Żabiński,
tytan pracy i organizacji. Byliśmy społecznością,
zintegrowaną wokół sekretariatu,
gdzie Panie Dorotki zawsze miały
ciepłą kawę i dobre słowo. Przeżywaliśmy
śluby, narodziny dzieci, dzieliliśmy się problemami
i dyskutowaliśmy nad naszymi
planami. Dziękuję ci, budynku D.

I had a lot of them in there, both professional
and social, with a coffee as a must.
The most important meeting for me that
was held in this cafe was the celebration
of my 70 th birthday in February 2009, as
it gathered a lot of people both from the
inside and outside of the university.
So I was growing old together with the
university and building D. I will remember
the time when I worked in this building
well. I was with it from its beginning to its
end. Generally, buildings last longer than
men, but sometimes the opposite is true.

My career starts with building D in the
early 1990’s. I remember the beginning
of my studies and “hunting” for a seat in
the old Amicus. I remember the room full
of smoke, strange armchairs, a lady with
a crooked smile, and coffee in a glass,
of course with grounds. Everyone was
there, so it was often a good alternative
to classes. Studying turned into work
and I became a permanent guest in the
building. My first room was 208. I was
so proud that I managed to squeeze my
shabby desk supported by a brick as the
fourth one into the small room. And here
the real “account” begins... cold winters
and hot summers. The building’s ventilation
system served mainly as a resonance
box, so it was difficult to keep any
privacy. Each meeting, each phone call,
each class in room 209 were public. But
it didn’t bother anyone. This was building
D for you. In my memories, however,
this building is all about people. Professor
Teodor Kramer, a good marketing spirit,
immersed in long discussions in the
corridor. Professor Kornelia Karcz, always
elegant and warm towards everyone,
building the university’s first international
relationships. Professor Zofia Kędzior,
a dynamic personality with a million
ideas. And, last but not least, Professor
Leszek Żabiński, the champion of work
and organization. We were a community,
integrated around the office, where Missuses
Dorotkas always had a hot coffee
and a good word for everyone. We lived
through weddings, children, we shared
our problems and discussed our plans.
