The National Center for Human Rights in Jordan organizes the
fourth founding session on human rights for judges
Within the framework of the
continuous cooperation between
the National Center for Human
Rights in Jordan and the Jordanian
Judicial Council, and with funding
from the Danish Institute for
Human Rights, the Center organized
the fourth founding session
on the human rights of women
and judges, where (44) newly
appointed judges from the judiciary
participated in the session.
This training workshop comes
within the series of training workshops
that the center has implemented
in cooperation with the
Judicial Council since its inception.
The session included many topics,
the most prominent of which are:
the emergence and development
of international human rights law,
international human rights standards,
fair trial guarantees in international
human rights law, and
other topics related to the human
rights system. The course was
implemented in two phases
during October 2020 due to the
Corona pandemic. The training
was provided by a group of trainers
and experts from the center
and other entities, using the interactive
training method to achieve
more impact.
44 newly appointed
judges in the judiciary
took part in the course
In his opening speech to the workshop,
the Commissioner-General
for Human Rights, Mr. Alaa El-Din
Al-Armouti, expressed his pride in
the relationship between the
Center and the Judicial Council.
He indicated that the judiciary has
an important and vital role in
protecting basic rights and
preserving human dignity, and for
this reason the independence of
the judiciary is one of the most
important pillars and the guarantor
of the basis for protecting
human rights. He pointed out that
the independence of the judiciary,
its impartiality and integrity mean
the consolidation and consecration
of human rights and the
preservation of dignity, because a
just, fair, efficient and independent
judiciary is the one that
achieves the rule of law and
preserves and protects the constitution,
which is the supreme reference
for every civilized peole and
nation.
For his part, the representative of
the Danish Institute for Human
Rights indicated that the Danish
Institute is keen on the continuity
of cooperation and partnership
with the National Center for
Human Rights, and that such
workshops reflect the extent of
concern and common understanding
of both parties on the necessity
of strengthening cooperation
bonds and exchanging experiences
in a way that serves the human
rights situation.
The National Center for Human Rights participates in a webinar on
managing the Corona crisis and its impact on the most vulnerable

in a webinar on managing
the Corona crisis and its impact
on the most vulnerable groups:
"The role and experiences of
national human rights institutions
in the West Asia region" organized
by the West Asia sub-regional
office of the Asia Pacific Forum.
The webinar aimed to provide a
platform for national human
rights institutions in the West
Asian region to exchange information,
experiences and practices on
how members identify the most
vulnerable groups internally, and
to identify priorities and strategically
design them within the
scope of managing and responding
to the Corona crisis.
