From England, Caroline Bonin,
Sarah Aps, and Bin Jamal of the
Sheffield Labor Movement in
Solidarity with the Palestinian
People, provided an overview of
the nature and forms of solidarity
represented in pressuring members
of the British Parliament to
adopt the legitimate rights of the
Palestinian people, and to hold
the occupation and those representing
it accountable for the
violations they commit against
the people. In addition, they
encouraged those interested in
Britain to visit Palestine and learn
about the violations of the occupation
so that they can form the
true image and activate solidarity
more effectively within British
society, stressing that solidarity
with the Palestinian cause is
solidarity for justice and not an
act of charity.
Mr. Issam Arouri, a member of the
Board of Commissioners of the
Independent Commission for
Human Rights in Palestine, said
that, "This Arab and international
solidarity with our just Palestinian
cause constitutes messages of
hope to our Palestinian people
from different parts of the world,
and at the same time this solidarity
raises challenges before us
about how to benefit from it and
from the solidarity movements,
and how invest that at all levels."
