4. The position of the breeding of d<strong>om</strong>estic animals, the development of h<strong>om</strong>e<br />
or imported races, the market value of the d<strong>om</strong>estic animals, and number<br />
of sales, fairs and cattle or horse shows, provided these have produced<br />
anything of any special Veterinary interest.<br />
5. Importation fr<strong>om</strong>, or exportation to <strong>for</strong>eign parts of d<strong>om</strong>estic animals, with<br />
a statement of the number of animals examined and their condition of health.<br />
6. The nature and sufficiency of their fodder.<br />
7. The tending of the d<strong>om</strong>estic animals, the stables and byres, with special<br />
regard to the conditions of cleanliness, as well in the management of<br />
d<strong>om</strong>estic animals as of their products, the employment of wash (with arsenic<br />
or other mediums) on the animals, and whether this is effected by the<br />
Veterinary Surgeon. In the column of the sicklist headed «Lice» only the<br />
number of those animals which are really infected with parasites is to be<br />
entered.<br />
8. The supervision of slaughtered animals, slaughter houses, saussage manufactories,<br />
and places <strong>for</strong> the sale of meat, and, generally, the arrangements<br />
<strong>for</strong> the supervision of animal food within the municipality or county district<br />
concerned.<br />
9. The peoples' requirements <strong>for</strong> veterinary medical assistance <strong>for</strong> their d<strong>om</strong>estic<br />
animals. The employment of quacks.<br />
In requesting the High Sheriff to give the resident Veterinary Surgeons<br />
within his county, the necessary in<strong>for</strong>mation in regard to the above, the Department<br />
desires, owing to various Veterinary Surgeons having neglected entirely to<br />
send in reports, or having transmitted them later than the time appointed, to<br />
call attention to § 10 of the mentioned Law, whereby any person transgressing<br />
the regulations issued by virtue of the same are liable to punishment.<br />
In order to facilitate despatch in the matter, a number of copies of the<br />
present circular are transmitted herewith.<br />
