contributions to analytical expenses are commonly negotiated and maintained. These help to
keep expensive clean laboratory and instrument-related running costs, mainly those for
isotope-geochemical analyses, in reasonable limits.
C.4 Samfundsmæssig betydning.
The topics contained in the kernefelt constitute a major pillar in the educational line and focus of the
Geological Institute, both in undergraduate and graduate levels. It offers attractive multidisciplinary
research directions which have great potential for international collaboration and attracts researchers
from all over the world. Our instrumental capabilities at Geocenter København are outstanding and of
state-of-the art quality, and therefore meet international standards set by other institutions worldwide.
Our attempt to combine two major research lines into one multidisciplinary line is envisaged to
attract not only students with an interest for more globally directed Earth sciences processes, but will
certainly be of interest to a wider, more broadly interested international scientific community. A
respective master course “Deep Earth”, taught in English language, is now an integral part of the
graduate program of the Geological Institute.
Novosibirsk, including other collaboration partners from the USGS Menlo Park and from the
GFZ-Potsdam. Furthermore, joint publication agreements with researchers from CALTECH,
Moskow, and Houston. Joint project applications at DOE (USA) and at EU under the shield
of the EuroCores projekt are presently submitted.
