KARLOVARSKÉ PRAMENY | karlsbader quellen | springs of Karlovy Vary RUSALČIN PRAMEN - pramen č. 7 DEUTSCH english Původně se jmenoval Nový pramen, i když byl znám již v 16. století. Je to ten slavný Nový pramen, který byl v 18. a 19. století středem pozornosti všech lázeňských hostí. Nad ním stávala od roku 1748 dřevěná kolonáda Nového pramene. Přímo u pramene zde tehdy ordinovali lázeňští lékaři - mezi nimi jako jeden z prvních David Becher. Pitná kúra se stala i společenskou záležitostí - původní dřevěná kolonáda musela být stále rozšiřována (1793, 1811), aby vyhověla návalu pacientů. Nakonec byl tento pramen začleněn do Mlýnské kolonády (1871-1881), navržené a vystavěné pražským architektem Josefem Zítkem. Výsadní postavení mezi karlovarskými prameny však již převzal Mlýnský pramen. Voda z Nového pramene se původně rozptylovala pod nánosem náplavů Teplé. Teprve v r. 1746 byl z popudu karlovarského lékaře Springfelda zachycen dřevěnou jímkou a využit pro pitnou kúru. Dr. Springfeld také provedl chemickou analýzu pramenní vody a dával mu dokonce pro jeho léčivé vlastnosti přednost před Vřídlem. V r. 1762 byla jímka pramene přestavěna a voda pak svým vlastním vztlakem vystupovala o 3 sáhy výše (dříve se musela nabírat přímo z jímky do džbánků). Voda pramene však měla nepříjemný pach, jakoby po zkažených vejcích. Výstupní pažnice byla z borového dřeva a reakcí termální vody s tímto dřevem vznikal sirovodík. Pažnici proto vyrobili z lipového dřeva, přesto se nedařilo zápach zcela odstranit. Navzdory těmto zkušenostem byly u všech karlovarských pramenů až do 60. let 19. sto letí pro výstupní pažnice používány provrtané lipové kmeny. Rusalčin pramen (jak byl Nový pramen přejmenován po II. světové válce) byl v r. 1984 nově zachycen jímacím vrtem o hloub ce pouhých 7,8 metru pod podlahou kolonády. DIE NYMPHENQUELLE - Quelle Nr. 7 Die Mineralquelle hiess ursprünglich die Neue Quelle, obwohl sie schon im 16. Jahrhundert bekannt war. Das ist die berühmte Neue Quelle, auf die sich im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert die Aufmerksamkeit aller Kurgäste konzentrierte. Seit dem Jahre 1748 stand über der Quelle die hölzerne Kolonnade der Neuen Quelle. Direkt an der Quelle hielten Ihre Sprechstunden Kurärzte - unter ihnen auch David Becher. Die Trinkkur wurde allmählich zum gesellschaftlichen Ereignis - die ursprüngliche hölzerne Kolonnade wurde grösser gemacht (1793,1811) denn die Menge der Patienten war sehr hoch. Schliesslich wurde diese Quelle in die Mühlbrunnkolonnade eingegliedert, die vom Architekten Josef Zítek aus Prag entworfen und erbaut wurde (1871-1881). Doch die priviligierte Stellung der Neuen Quelle wurde schon damals von der Mühlbrunnquelle übernommen. Das Wasser aus der Quelle verlor sich unter den Anschwemmungen des Flusses Tepl. Im Jahre 1746 wurde die Quelle auf Anlass des Karlsbader Arztes Springfeld in ein hölzernes Reservoir aufgefangen und in der Trinkkur verwendet. Springfeld selbst nahm die chemische Analyse des Wassers vor und bevorzugte seine Heilkraft vor der des Sprudels. Im Jahre 1762 wurde das Reservoir umgebaut. Der Auftrieb des Wassers war dann so gross, das es 3 Klafter höher stieg (früher musste man das Wasser direkt aus dem Reservoir in die Krüge schöpfen). Doch das Wasser aus der Quelle verbreitete einen unangenehmen Geruch - es roch nach verdorbenen Eiern. Ein Teil des Reservoirs wurde nämlich aus Kiefernholz angefertigt. Durch die Reaktion des Kiefernholzes mit Thermalwasser entstand Schwefelwasserstoff. Später wurde Kiefernholz mit Lidenholz ersetzt, doch der Geruch blieb. Trotz diesen Erfahrungen benutzte man Lindenholz bis zu den 60. Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts. Die Nymphenquelle (nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg wurde die Neue Quelle umbenannt) wurde im Jahre 1984 mit einer 7,8 m tiefen Bohrung neu aufgefangen. THE NYMPH SPRING - Spring No. 7 Despite the fact the spring has been known since 16th century, it was initially called The New Spring. It is the famous New Spring on which the attention of all spa guests concentrated in the 18th and 19th centuries. Since 1748 a wooden colonnade of the New Spring was standing above it. Spa doctors had their surgeries right at the spring. David Becher, a famous Karlovy Vary polyhistor, was one of them. The drinking cure became a social event - the original wooden colonnade had to be extended (1793, 1811) because it was constantly crowded with patients. Later the spring became a part of the Mill Colonnade. The Mill Colonnade (1871-1881) was planned and built by the architect Josef Zítek. The privileged position of the New Spring was later taken over by the Mill Spring. The water of the New Spring was hidden under the alluvia of the Teplá river. In 1746 Karlovy Vary doctor Springfeld initiated the collection of the spring. A wooden reservoir was built and the spring started to be used in the drinking cure. Doctor Springfeld himself made a chemical analysis of the mineral water and he preferred the curative power of the New Spring to the Sprudel. In 1762 the reservoir was rebuilt and water rose some feet higher thanks to its own upper pressure (the jars were filled with water right in the reservoir before). But the water gave out an unpleasant smell - it smelt like bad eggs. The smell was caused by hydrogen sulphide which came into being through the reaction of pine wood and mineral water. (A part of the reservoir was made of pine wood). Pine wood was later replaced with linden wood but the smell didn‘t disappear. In spite of it linden wood was used up to the 60s of the 19th century. After the World War II the New Spring was renamed and it started to be called the Nymph Spring. In 1984 a new well was made and the water was held at a height of 7,8 m under the floor of the colonnade. 20 www.pupp.cz
Thun Studio Karlovarský porcelán Založení porcelánky v Lesově spadá do období vrcholného rozvoje porcelánové výroby počátkem 20. století. Do historie českého porcelánu se zapisuje zlatým písmem až po druhé světové válce, kdy v budovách zaniklé porcelánky Lenhard vzniká v roce 1956 vývojové středisko Karlovarského porcelánu. Pracují zde špičkoví modeláři, realizující nový estetický pohled na tvarování a vzhled. Špičkový design přináší úspěch zejména na světové výstavě EXPO ‘58 v Bruselu, kde vývojový tým obdržel Grand Prix a zlatou medaili. Po roce 1995, s novým vlastníkem, vzniká nová koncepce výroby pod značkou Thun Studio Karlovarský porcelán. Jeho produkce svými vysokými nároky na řemeslné zpracování vyžaduje manufakturní či ateliérový způsob výroby. Práce unikátního designu a vysoké estetické úrovně, zpravidla v limitovaných sériích, nesou rukopis akademického sochaře Jiřího Laštovičky, člena Mezinárodní akademie keramiky. Produkce Thun Studia tak sbírá řadu ocenění, je vyhledávaným artiklem sběratelů, je zastoupena ve sbírkách muzeí. Ve studiu se pravidelně konají doprovodné akce MFF či Mezinárodní konvicové sympózium. Mimořádnou úroveň a kvalitu práce zdejších mistrů potvrzují takové zakázky, jakými jsou servis pro prezidenta republiky a Pražský hrad, pro španělský královský palác či zastupitelské úřady v zahraničí. In der Historie des tschechischen Porzellans begann sie erst nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg eine wichtige Rolle zu spielen, nachdem in den Gebäuden der ehemaligen Porzellanfabrik Lenhard ein Designer-Zentrum der Firma Karlovarský porcelán ge gründet worden war. Es arbeiten hier Top-Designers, die ein neues ästhetisches Herantreten an die Formung und das Aussehen durchsetzten. Das Top-Design brachte Erfolge vor allem auf der Weltaus stellung EXPO ‘58 in Brüssel, wo das Team den Grand Prix und eine goldene Medaille erhielt. Nach dem Jahre 1995 mit einem neuen Besitzer, entstand eine neue Konzeption der Produktion unter der Marke Thun Studio Karlovarský porcelán. Wegen der hohen Ansprüche an die handwerkliche Verarbeitung erfordert diese Produktion eine Manufaktur oder ein Studio. Die Arbeiten von einzigartigem Design und hohem ästheti schen Standard zumeist in limitierten Serien, tragen die Handschrift des akademischen Bildhauers Jiří Laštovička, des Mitglieds der Internationalen Akademie der Keramik. Die Produktion des Studios Thun sammelt zahlreiche Preise und ist ein beliebter Artikel von Sammlern. Sie ist auch in den Sammlungen vieler Museen vertreten. Im Studio finden regelmässig die zum Internationalen Filmfestival gehörenden Veranstaltungen oder das Internationale Kannensym po sium statt. Solche Bestellungen wie das Service für den Präsidenten der Tschechischen Republik und die Prager Burg, für die spanische Königsburg oder Vertre tungsbehörden im Ausland bestätigen den aussergewöhnlichen Standard und Qualität der Arbeit hiesiger Meister. The foundation of the porcelain factory in Lesov falls into the period of the boom in porcelain production in the early 20th century. It was only after World War II that it started to play an important role in the history of Czech porcelain after a development centre of the company Karlovarský porcelán had been established in the buildings of the former porcelain factory Lenhard in 1956. Top modellers who worked here put a new aesthetic view of shaping and appearance into practice. That is why the products of the Thun studio get a number of awards, is popular with collectors and represented in the collections of museums. Supporting events of the International Film Festival or the International Jug Symposium are regularly held in the studio.
