Ursprünglich 1504 als August<strong>in</strong>erkloster gebaut, wurde das Gebäude über<br />
35 Jahre Hauptwirkungsstätte des Reformators Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther. Heute ist das<br />
Lutherhaus das größte reformationsgeschichtliche Museum der Welt und steht<br />
auf der Liste des UNESCO-Welterbes. Die Dauerausstellung zeigt mehr als 1.000<br />
orig<strong>in</strong>ale Exponate, die vom Leben und Werk des Reformators Luther, aber auch<br />
von se<strong>in</strong>em familiären Alltag und se<strong>in</strong>er reichen Wirkungsgeschichte erzählen.<br />
Die Lutherstadt Wittenberg liegt an der Elbe etwa 80 Kilometer nordöstlich von<br />
<strong>Halle</strong> und ist gut mit dem Auto oder der Bahn erreichbar. Weitere Informationen<br />

Orig<strong>in</strong>ally built <strong>in</strong> 1504 as an August<strong>in</strong>ian monastery, this was where the reformer<br />
Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther spent more than 35 years and carried out the major part<br />
of his work. Today, Luther House is the largest museum of the history of the<br />
Reformation <strong>in</strong> the world and figures on the list of UNESCO World Heritage<br />
monuments. The permanent exhibition shows more than 1,000 orig<strong>in</strong>al exhibits<br />
which tell of the life and work of Luther the reformer, but also of his family life<br />
and the far-reach<strong>in</strong>g impact of his m<strong>in</strong>istry. One of the “Luther Cities”, Wittenberg,<br />
lies on the Elbe some 80 kilometres north-east of <strong>Halle</strong> and is easily accessible<br />
