18 St. Moritzkirche<br />
Die vom Architekten Conrad von E<strong>in</strong>beck erbaute spätgotischste Pfarrkirche ist die älteste<br />
Kirche der Stadt. Die siebenjochige <strong>Halle</strong>nkirche ist dem Heiligen Mauritius geweiht.<br />
An der Westseite kann man noch die Überreste der früheren Stadtmauer und nördlich das<br />
ehemalige Gebäude des Johannisspitals entdecken. Der Pfarrer und Stadtsuper<strong>in</strong>tendent<br />
Justus Jonas, Weggefährte Mart<strong>in</strong> Luthers, setzte das Werk der Reformation <strong>in</strong> <strong>Halle</strong> um:<br />
Er schrieb Bibelauslegungen und Gedichte, Gutachten und 1543 e<strong>in</strong>e neue Kirchenordnung<br />
für die Stadt <strong>Halle</strong>.<br />
The Late Gothic parish church, built by the architect Conrad von E<strong>in</strong>beck, is the oldest<br />
church <strong>in</strong> the city. This hall church with its seven bays is dedicated to Sa<strong>in</strong>t Maurice. On<br />
the west side, you can still see rema<strong>in</strong>s of the former city walls and to the north side, the<br />
build<strong>in</strong>g of the former hospice, the Johannisspital. The pastor and city Stadtsuper<strong>in</strong>tendent,<br />
Justus Jonas, a companion of Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther, implemented the Reformation <strong>in</strong> <strong>Halle</strong>:<br />
he wrote <strong>in</strong>terpretations of the Bible, poems, reports and, <strong>in</strong> 1543, a new Church Order<br />
for the city of <strong>Halle</strong>.<br />
19 Lutherhaus Wittenberg, Collegienstraße 54, Lutherstadt Wittenberg<br />
Das Lutherhaus <strong>in</strong> Wittenberg war fast 35 Jahre die Hauptwirkungsstätte des Reformators.<br />
Hier lebte Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther ab 1508 als Mönch, ab 1525 dann zusammen mit se<strong>in</strong>er<br />
Familie als Ehemann und Vater. Seit 1883 ist das Haus als Museum für Besucher geöffnet<br />
und heute das weltweit größte reformationsgeschichtliche Museum. Die Dauerausstellung<br />
„Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther – Leben, Werk und Wirkung“ zeigt Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther <strong>in</strong> Wittenberg, den<br />
Alltag der Familie Luther und die Wirkungsgeschichte des Reformators.<br />

Luther House <strong>in</strong> Wittenberg is the place where the reformer lived and worked for nearly<br />
35 years. Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther lived here from 1508 as a monk, then from 1525 with his family<br />
as a husband and father. The house has been open to the public as a museum s<strong>in</strong>ce 1883<br />
and today is the world‘s largest museum of Reformation history. The permanent exhibition,<br />
“Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther – Life, M<strong>in</strong>istry and Impact”, shows Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther’s life and work <strong>in</strong><br />
Wittenberg, the daily life of the Luther family and the impact the reformer had.<br />
20 St. Andreaskirche <strong>in</strong> der Lutherstadt Eisleben<br />
Die Geschichte der St.-Andreas-Kirche reicht bis <strong>in</strong> das 12. Jahrhundert zurück, mit ihrem<br />
Neubau wurde im 15. Jahrhundert begonnen. Zu den bedeutenden Werken der mitteldeutschen<br />
Spätgotik gehört der um 1480 gefertigte doppelte Flügelaltar. Berühmt ist die<br />
spätgotische Kanzel, auf der Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther im Januar und Februar 1546 die vier letzten<br />
Predigten se<strong>in</strong>es Lebens gehalten hat. In der Kirche bef<strong>in</strong>den sich e<strong>in</strong>drucksvolle Renaissance-Grabmäler<br />
der Grafen von Mansfeld.<br />

The history of St. Andreas’ goes back to the twelfth century; the church was rebuilt start<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>in</strong> the fifteenth century. The double-w<strong>in</strong>ged altarpiece, dat<strong>in</strong>g from around 1480,<br />
ranks among the most important works of Late Gothic art <strong>in</strong> Central Germany. Another<br />
famous piece is the Late Gothic pulpit from which Mart<strong>in</strong> Luther preached the four f<strong>in</strong>al<br />
sermons of his life <strong>in</strong> January and February 154<strong>6.</strong> The church also holds the impos<strong>in</strong>g<br />
Renaissance tombs of the Counts of Mansfeld.<br />
