Le Concert des Nations<br />
Composers have always been <strong>in</strong>spired by the sounds and beauty of nature and<br />
the character of animals. Choral music, the picturesque atmosphere of the gardens,<br />
breaks for tak<strong>in</strong>g a stroll and a picnic amid the greenery will make this<br />
visit to the Botanical Gardens a unique experience. The Botanical Gardens of<br />
Mart<strong>in</strong>-Luther-Universität <strong>Halle</strong>-Wittenberg can look back over 300 years of history<br />
as a teach<strong>in</strong>g and study collection; moreover, this is one of the few Central<br />
European <strong>in</strong>stitutions of its k<strong>in</strong>d which has never been moved s<strong>in</strong>ce its <strong>in</strong>ception.<br />

Wo er auftaucht, s<strong>in</strong>d die Konzertsäle voll: Jordi Savall ist Musiker, Dirigent und<br />
Komponist. Als Spezialist für Alte Musik von <strong>in</strong>ternationalem Rang setzt er sich<br />
seit mehr als drei Jahrzehnten mit nicht nachlassender Leidenschaft und Intensität<br />
für die Musik des Mittelalters, der Renaissance und der Barockzeit e<strong>in</strong>. Das<br />
Orchester Le Concert des Nations, dessen Namensgeber e<strong>in</strong> Werk von Couper<strong>in</strong><br />
ist, gründete er 1989. In <strong>Halle</strong> haben der ECHO Klassik-Preisträger 2011 und<br />
se<strong>in</strong> Ensemble seit Jahren e<strong>in</strong>e Fangeme<strong>in</strong>de. Der Händel-Preisträger<br />
Jordi Savall erweist <strong>in</strong> dem Konzert dem großen Sohn der Stadt wiederholt se<strong>in</strong>e<br />
Referenz.<br />
Wherever Jordi Savall, musician, conductor and composer, appears, the concert<br />
halls are full. As an <strong>in</strong>ternationally renowned specialist <strong>in</strong> ancient music, he has<br />
furthered the cause of mediaeval, Renaissance and Baroque music with unabated<br />
passion and <strong>in</strong>tense dedication for more than three decades. He founded<br />
Le Concert des Nations orchestra, which is named after a work by Couper<strong>in</strong>,<br />
<strong>in</strong> 1989. The 2011 ECHO Klassik award w<strong>in</strong>ner and his ensemble have had a<br />
faithful follow<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>Halle</strong> for many years. In this concert, the w<strong>in</strong>ner of the 2009<br />
Handel Prize will once aga<strong>in</strong> be pay<strong>in</strong>g his respects to the city‘s greatest son.<br />
