Motto des diesjährigen Festivals Andermatt
Swiss Alps Classics ist das Thema «Familie».
Für die meisten Menschen, die sich hauptberuflich
der Musik widmen, war die Familie der
erste Ort der Begegnung mit dieser Kunstform,
ohne die Nietzsche zufolge «das Leben ein
Irrtum» wäre.
Die Schwestern Katia und Marielle Labèque
(Bild), als brillantes Klavierduo weltbekannt,
bestreiten den Eröffnungsabend; die Pianistin
Elena Bashkirova und ihr Sohn, der Geiger und
Bratschist Michael Barenboim, spielen mit
Clemens, Dominik und Benedikt Hellsberg.
Lang Lang wird mit einer Überraschung aufwarten;
Benjamin Schmid, einer der führenden
Geiger Österreichs, tritt mit seiner Frau,
der Schweizer Pianistin Ariane Haering auf.
Den Abschluss krönen Vater und Sohn, Hans
und Martin Haselböck, mit dem Orchester
Wiener Akademie.

This year, ‘Family’ will be the central theme of
the event. Most people who dedicate themselves
to music first encountered the art form
within the family setting. As Nietzsche said:
“Without music, life would be a mistake.”
Internationally renowned piano duo, sisters
Katia and Marielle Labèque (picture), will
perform at the festival's opening evening;
pianist Elena Bashkirova and her son, violinist
and violist Michael Barenboim, will play with
Clemens, Dominik and Benedikt Hellsberg.
Lang Lang will treat us to a surprise programme;
Benjamin Schmid, one of the most distinguished
Austrian violinists, will perform with his wife,
the Swiss pianist Ariane Haering. Closing
the event, we have father and son Hans and
Martin Haselböck, performing with the Wiener
Akademie orchestra.
The Andermatt Swiss Alps Classics provides
guests with an opportunity to experience
the artists at close quarters in more intimate
venues. “The Chedi Andermatt” and the
theater(uri) in Altdorf, the Nätschen mid-way
station of the SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun and
St. Peter and Paul church all provide the perfect
setting for the Andermatt Swiss Alps Classics.
The Swiss Alps Chamber Ensemble was founded
last year especially for the Andermatt Swiss Alps
Classics Festival. The Ensemble had its début
concert on 30 June 2017 with the “Concert in
the mountain” at Sasso San Gottardo. It will be
a regular fixture of the annual Andermatt Swiss
Alps Classics.

Das Andermatt Swiss Alps Classics ermöglicht

sowie das theater(uri) in Altdorf, die Mittelstation
Nätschen der SkiArena Andermatt-Sedrun

optimalen Rahmen für das Andermatt Swiss Alps
Classics.
Eigens für das Andermatt Swiss Alps Classics
Festival wurde im letzten Jahr das Swiss Alps
Chamber Ensemble gegründet. Sein Debüt
feierte es am 30. Juni 2017 mit dem «Konzert im
Berg» im Sasso San Gottardo. Es wird ein fester
Bestandteil des alljährlichen Andermatt Swiss
Alps Classics sein.
