Trendguide: What does highcycling
actually mean?
Kuhlmeier: For me it‘s about treating valuable
materials with care. It can‘t be right that an old
fur, a garment that is wonderfully warm and
decorative, is simply thrown away and you
might even buy a piece made of synthetic fibre,
which is usually not produced and disposed of
in an environmentally friendly way. An example:
many ladies treated themselves to a valuable
fur or received a mink as a gift years ago.
Or one has inherited a fur coat and wants to
recycle it in some it in some form or other. But
you don‘t wear this fur any more because the
style is getting on in years and the cut is out
of fashion – or you simply want to wear the fur
differently, perhaps as an inner lining.
Trendguide: How do you go about
„highcycling“ a fur coat?
Kuhlmeier: We, the team at INUK HIGH-
CYCLING, focus on reusing your precious fur.
We create new values for you that you will enjoy
wearing again and that will give you pleasure.
Sometimes all it takes is a small reworking.
But for larger reworkings, we also separate your
fur completely so that we can recover the raw
materials and make visually new pieces from
them. For example, a newly laid coat, designer
parka with fur lining or reversible cashmere
coats. Or noble fur blankets and cushions for
your home.
Trendguide: Can you come to you for a
consultation with your fur coat?
Kuhlmeier: Of course! We will advise you individually
and turn your outdated fur into a
new stylish designer piece. Our decades of
experience in the reworking of furs and cut
design qualify us to respond to your individual
wishes. In this way, an older fur can still give a
lot of pleasure in an environmentally and animal-friendly
way – and perhaps even be passed
on to the next generation. For me, this means
sustainability and responsibility for our
environment!
