Full Text: Longtime educator Dave Cornelius will join Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite
School of Journalism and Mass Communication on a project to create multimedia newsrooms at 10
underserved Arizona high schools.
Cornelius will serve as director of the Stardust High School Journalism Program. The newsroom
project is being funded by a grant from the Scottsdale-base Stardust Foundation in an effort to
reinvigorate high school journalism programs, encourage student success and improve graduation
rates.
Cornelius taught media communications at Arcadia High School for the past six years. He developed
programs considered models for teaching arts, audiovisual technology and communications. Last
year, he and his students won more than 50 state, regional and national broadcast awards.
