THE WINNERS ARE: 0 – 6, Fishing from Dock: 1 st Place - Most Fish Caught – Tyson West 1 st Place - Largest Fish Caught – Dalton Pagan 0- 6, Fishing from Boat: 1 st Place - Most Fish Caught – Bradley Sutton 1 st Place - Largest Fish Caught – Taylor Sullivan 7-13 Fishing from Dock: 2 nd Place Most Fish Caught – Marshall Meeks 1 st Place Most Fish Caught – Kaitlyn Magune 1 st Place Largest Fish Caught – Gabriella Burns 7 -13 Fishing from Boat: 1 st Place Most Fish Caught – Dylan Thomas 1 st Place Largest Fish Caught – Lindsey Thomas Since the fishing was not the best due to tropical storm Andrea off-shore, we held drawings to give out the remaining 2 nd Place $50.00 savings bonds. When everyone got back from fishing, there was plenty to eat - hamburgers, hot dogs, fried fish and shrimp prepared by our local chef, Joel Anderson and Debbie Pagan helped serve the food. Judy Odrezin was there to help the kids create a fish art picture with their fish while Ben McNeely and Arelene Nichols weighed in the fish. Also, door prizes, trophies, and savings bonds were given out. This year’s tournament was great, and thanks to the kindness of our sponsors, we may be able to start the Tybee “DAC” Kids scholarship fund this year. By Gene Kindrick Commander As this issue of the Breeze goes to print summer is upon us and everyone is busy as ever, and it is the same way at the post. Mother’s Day Steak Dinner was a great success with all the steaks sold and the Beach Bum Parade is now over and was once again a huge success with everyone getting wet. The biggest news for the month of May is that the city council approved putting the new Veterans Memorial in Memorial Park and now the fundraising can begin. The sponsorship bricks are now on sale at $75.00 per brick and you can get brick forms at numerous locations around Tybee. Please Auxiliary Unit #154 Our American Legion Auxiliary unit 154 elected officers for the 2007/08 year at our May meeting. The following ladies will be installed at our July meeting: Pres. Wanda Kindrick; V. Pres. Linda Springer; Treasurer Kay Dowell; Secretary Belinda Flanigan; Historia Viv Austin; Chaplain Terese Robertson. Thanks to everyone for accepting these positions. Our next meeting will be held on June 11th. Social begins at 6 pm and the meeting begins promptly at 7 pm. Come and join us. God bless You Wanda Kindrick President American Legion Post 154 Tybee Island, GA remember your Veteran’s and help us build this monument in their honor in Memorial Park which was named after the veterans of WWII. Remember the Legion is open seven days a week from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Bingo is Friday night at 8 p.m. The next steak dinner will be Father’s Day from 12-2:30. The price is $14.00, which includes baked potato, salad, roll, and a 12-14 oz. steak. Desserts are sold separately. Legion dues become due June 23rd and they are $35.00 this year.
