such outstanding debts as are due here to the principal, on receipt of which he may execute a<br />

discharge. [The principal] further [promises] to hold valid whatever shall be done in the matter<br />

by Jan Lourensen, who may also sue at law if necessary. Done the 24th of September 1646, at<br />

New Amsterdam.<br />

[Receipt of Joseph Brewster for 29 pounds of beaver<br />

due to his father by Thomas Baxter]<br />

[150a] I, the undersigned, Joseph Brusto, acknowledge that before the execution hereof I have<br />

been fully satisfied and paid by Tomas Bacxter the sum of twenty-nine pounds of beaver, which<br />

the aforesaid Bacxter owed my father, Francis Brusto, according to the note given therefor,<br />

which note is torn up and canceled. I therefore release him from all further claim. Done in Fort<br />

Amsterdam in New Netherland, the 2nd of October 1646.<br />

[Power of attorney from Edward Agerd to Isaac Allerton<br />

to collect money from Pieter van der Linden]<br />

[150b] Eduwart Agert appoints and empowers Isaac Allerton to demand and collect from Pitter<br />

vander Linden the sum of one hundred guilders due him, Ager, by said de Linden, according to<br />

the contract made on the 22nd of August 1645; on payment of which sum by Piter van[der]<br />

Linden to said Allerton, he is empowered to give a receipt therefor, which shall avail, [the<br />

principal] holding as valid whatever shall be done in the matter. This day, the 4th of October<br />

anno 1646, at New Amsterdam.<br />
