[Receipt of Hendrick Arentsen for 300 guilders paid by<br />

Jacob Wolphertsen on account]<br />

[153f] I, the undersigned, Hendrick Arensen, hereby acknowledge for myself, my heirs and<br />

successors the receipt in my hands from Jacob Wolphersen, before the execution hereof, of the<br />

sum of three hundred Carolus guilders in cash, which said sum of 300 guilders he, Jacob<br />

Wolphersen, has paid me on account of what he owes me or has from me in his possession.<br />

Therefore, I release the aforesaid Jacob Wolphersen from all further claims in regard to the<br />

aforesaid sum. In witness whereof this is signed by Hendric Arensen and witnesses, the 4th of<br />

December anno 1646, in New Netherland.<br />

[Bond of Jan Jansen Schepmoes in favor of Hendrick Jacobsen Patervaer]<br />

[153g] Before me, Cornelis van Tienhoven, secretary of New Netherland, appeared Jan Jansen<br />

Schepmoes, who acknowledges that he is well and truly indebted to Hendrick Jacobsen Patervaer<br />

in the sum of three hundred and eleven Carolus guilders, ten stivers, which sum the appearer<br />

promises promptly to tender and pay on the demand of the above mentioned Hendric Jacobsen in<br />

beavers at the current market price, free of costs and charges, without any exception. In witness<br />

of the truth this is signed by the aforesaid Schepmoes, who as security hereof binds his person<br />

and property, movable and immovable, present and future, without any exception, submitting the<br />

same to the control of all courts. This 5th of Dec. 1646, in New Amsterdam, New Netherland.<br />
