We struck gold! The new MAN
twelve-cylinder yacht engine
attracted admiring looks at the
Boat Show in Düsseldorf.
A touch of class greeted visitors at
Stand F23 in Hall 7a. At this year’s International Boat Show
in Düsseldorf MAN unveiled its new twelve-cylinder marine
engine with an eye-catching gold-plated cylinder head cover.
The impressive V12-1650, a heavy-duty segment model, has
a compact design and is characterised by ease of use and
efficiency. With its maximum torque of 5,520 Newton metres,
which is available at speeds as low as 1,200 rpm, this highperformance
motor provides ample power at low rpm levels
and extremely smooth operation at medium cruising speeds.
Sunseeker puts its faith in MAN
Yacht manufacturer Sunseeker believes in the power of
MAN engines. At “the boot” in Düsseldorf it showcased two
new Flybridge yachts, Manhattan 53 and Manhattan 73.
Manhattan 53 is 18 metres long, has two R6-800 engines,
and reaches a top speed of 31 knots. Its big sister has two
V12-1360 engines, which enable it to reach an impressive
34 knots.■

High-torque performance at low rev levels, and smooth operation at all
speeds. And it’s quiet and efficient, too! The V12-1650 was specially
developed for owners of yachts up to 100 feet (or about 30 metres) in
length who like to travel in comfort and to cover long distances while
they sleep.
