is the steward of several historic sites that<br />

host visitors. Many sites offer a hands-on<br />

opportunity to learn about life in another time.<br />

Alexandriana: Site has a monument which<br />

commemorates the signing of <strong>Mecklenburg</strong><br />

Declaration of Independence, 9921 Old<br />

Try Your Hand at Fishing! It’s Fun... and FREE!<br />

<strong>Mecklenburg</strong> <strong>County</strong> Park and Recreation can lend you a fishing rod and tackle<br />

for a day, so you can try angling in any of our ponds and lakes. This program is a<br />

partnership with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. It is free, and designed<br />

to increase fishing opportunities. Just bring a valid ID and fill out a form. A NC<br />

Fishing License is required for age 16 and older. For license information check<br />
