Sculptures de thierry Ehrmann
Détail d'une lame
Focus on a blade
trente ans de sCulPtures
de thIerry ehrmann (1982-2012)
À la question qui revient sans cesse
par les visiteurs du musée : a-t-on
le droit de toucher mes sculptures ?
Je réponds OUI ! Pour le plaisir
des yeux et du toucher car elles
sont faites pour être en contact
corporel avec vous. Je sens déjà,
qu’au-delà de l’exposition ; “trente
ans de sculptures de thierry Ehrmann
(1982-2012)” - avec 702
sculptures d’acier brut de 20 mm
créées in situ depuis 2 ans - il se
prépare une suite grandiose et
décadente.
Nous avons pris contact avec des
fournisseurs d’aciers spéciaux de
200 à 500 mm d’épaisseur (Aérospatiale,
usage militaire…) qui vont
nous permettre des installations
monstrueuses à faire rougir l’Araignée
de Louise BOURGEOIS
au Guggenheim. Le volume et la
sculpture chez moi est une passion,
déjà en école primaire je me faisais
virer car je créais en “loucedé” des
maquettes de sculpture et installation
en balsa, carton, bois, etc…
planqué au fond de la classe.
Le but sera d’arriver en 2012/2016
à créer une deuxième Demeure du
Chaos qui se superpose comme un
infra-mince à la première ; l’invi-
tation au voyage vous permettra
entre autre d’être
au-dessus du Temple Protestant
par des sculptures
sans frôler les fouilles. Vous pourrez
aussi visionner l’intérieur de la
Demeure du Chaos et Artprice/
Groupe Serveur de manière iconoclaste
par des installations surréalistes
utilisant les souterrains
secrets.
thierry Ehrmann, 2012
I am constantly asked by visitors
to the museum: can we touch
your sculptures? My answer is
YES! They were made to please the
eye and be touched – to come into
physical contact with the viewer.
I can feel that a monumental
and decadent project is preparing
and will commence after the
exhibition Thirty years of thierry
Ehrmann sculptures (19822012),
featuring 702 works of 20mmthick
steel created in situ over a
period of 2 years.
We are currently in touch with
suppliers of crude steel (used in
aerospace and military applications)
ranging in thickness from
200mm to 500mm that will make
Louise Bourgeois’ Guggenheim
42 43
Spider blush. I have always had
a passion for volume and sculpture.
As far back as primary school
I was disciplined for craftily hiding
mockups of sculptures made
out of balsa wood, cardboard and
wood at the back of the classroom.
The goal over the 2012/2016 period
is to create a second “Abode
of Chaos” that will be superimposed
as an “infrathin” second
layer – one that is barely perceptible
– over the first. The invitation
to this voyage will feature sculptures
that place you above the
Protestant Temple without coming
into contact with the excavations
beneath it. You will also be able to
view the interior of the Demeure
du Chaos and Artprice / the Server
Group through a series of iconoclastic
installations set in a secret
underground world. So yes!
the Great Work continues unabated,
regardless of how many aggressive
attacks by reactionaries of all
stripes I have to endure. Make no
mistake, the Demeure de Chaos is
a monster, it is hungry and it is furiously
Dada.
