Operate the remote control lever into<br />
forward and reverse gears and check<br />
for the amount of drag felt.<br />
Adjust the remote control friction<br />
adjuster so that a slight amount of drag<br />
is felt. The remote control lever should<br />
move smoothly and freely.<br />

Check the followihg items:<br />
1. The fuel hose for kinking, collaps-<br />
ing or loose connections.<br />
2. The stem bracket for damage and<br />
mounting bolts for proper torque.<br />
3. The tool kit contents. Compare your<br />
tool kit contents against the tool kit<br />
illustration above. Replace any<br />
missing items.<br />
4. The anodes for damage, looseness<br />
or excessive corrosion.<br />
The anodes help to protect the out-<br />
board motor from corrosion any time<br />
they are exposed directly to the water.<br />

Replace anodes when they are visibly<br />
reduced in size or crumble easily.<br />
w Painting or coating the<br />
anodes will lead to rust and corro-<br />
sion damage to the outboard motor.<br />

kept with the boat:<br />
1. Owner’s Manual.<br />
2. Tool Kit.<br />
3. Spare engine oil, spark plugs, pro-<br />
peller, propeller cotter pins and nut.<br />
4. Required information regarding<br />
boating laws and regulations.
