STEERING FRICTION<br />
When trailering or transporting the<br />
boat with the motor attached, it is<br />
recommended that the motor remain<br />
in the normal run position. Tighten<br />
the steering friction adjuster se-<br />
curely lo stop the motor’s side to<br />
side tiovement.<br />

If there is insufficient road clearance<br />
with the motor in the normal run po-<br />
sition, then trailer the motor in the<br />
tilted position using a motor support<br />
bar (refer to your motor support bar<br />
manufacturer’s instructions) or re-<br />
move the motor from the boat.<br />
Close the fuel cap vent knob (refer<br />
to page 27).<br />
Disconnect the fuel coupling from<br />
the outboard motor (refer to page<br />
35).<br />

CASE PROTECTORS<br />
Before removing the motor from the<br />
boat, drain the carburetors. Follow<br />
the carburetor drain procedure on<br />
page 94.<br />
Always rest the motor on the case<br />
protectors and be sure to protect it<br />
from impact and damage.
