Engine Fuel Filter<br />
FUEL FILTER<br />
The engine fuel filter is located under<br />
the engine cover between the fuel cou-<br />
pling and the fuel pump. Water or<br />
sediment accumulated in the fuel filter<br />
can cause loss of power or hard start-<br />
ing.<br />
Check interval:<br />
Every 100 hours (Refer to the main-<br />
tenance schedule page 78.)<br />
Change interval:<br />
Every 400 hours (Refer to the main-<br />
tenance schedule page 78.)<br />
w Gasoline is<br />
extremely flammable, and gaso-<br />
line vapor can explode, causing<br />
serious injury or death. Do not<br />
smoke or allow flames or sparks<br />
in your working area. KEEP<br />
OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.<br />
Always work in a well-ventilated area.<br />
Make sure that any fuel drained from<br />
the outboard motor is stored in an<br />
approved gasoline container. Be care-<br />
ful not to spill any fuel when replacing<br />
the filter. Spilled fuel or fuel vapor<br />
may ignite. If any fuel spilled, make<br />
sure the area is dry before starting the<br />
engine.<br />

1. Disconnect the fuel hose connector<br />
from the outboard motor.<br />
2. Pull the choke knob fully and<br />
