3.3.3 Adult <strong>and</strong> juvenile survival <strong>and</strong> re-sighting rates<br />

Nearly half <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> adults b<strong>and</strong>ed in 2006 were not seen in 2007 (Fig. 3.12). However, more than<br />

two-thirds <strong>of</strong> all <strong>the</strong> adult birds b<strong>and</strong>ed in 2007 were re-sighted in 2008 <strong>and</strong> 2009. In 2010, <strong>the</strong> resightings<br />

<strong>of</strong> birds b<strong>and</strong>ed between 2006 <strong>and</strong> 2008 were at or less than 20%. The re-sighting rate<br />

<strong>of</strong> adults b<strong>and</strong>ed in 2009 seemed high in 2010, but it was only beca<strong>use</strong> two out <strong>of</strong> three b<strong>and</strong>ed<br />

adults were sighted.<br />

Figure 3.12 Proportion <strong>of</strong> adult birds b<strong>and</strong>ed each year that were-sighted in subsequent years<br />

Only 8.7% <strong>and</strong> 13.0% <strong>of</strong> juveniles b<strong>and</strong>ed in 2007 were re-sighted in 2008 <strong>and</strong> 2009 as yearlings<br />
