Section K- Discharge Plenum Section
Notes
Primary Codes that pertain: 40
Additional Codes that pertain: 3, 6, 11, 15, 16, 34, 35, 36, 38, 39, 41.
Code 40 determines the discharge direction. RAH units may have bottom, side, or front discharge (code FY).
Code 06, insulation and liners, influences the front panels part numbers. Code 11, disconnect switch option, influences
the access doors part numbers. Code 15 is the damper code. If code 40= BE, then code 15 must be either 1, or 2.
If the plenum has dampers, then the supply fan CANNOT have vanes.
Code 16 determines Smoke Detectors. If C16= 2 or 3 there is a Supply Air Smoke Detector (SD1). For RAH units
with heat, the SD1 is in Section K. For RAH draw thru units— units with no separate discharge plenum section— the
SD1 is in the Supply Air section (Section F).
Codes 34- 39, the Blow-thru/Final Filter section codes, and code 41, the special Blank compartment code, pertain to
some of the final assembly part numbers. If there is no blow-thru/final section then the discharge plenum is attached
directly to the supply air section and some of the final assembly part numbers are different than they are if the blowthru
section is present. If code 41=Y (no blank access compartment), then the discharge plenum end panels are
painted. If the blank compartment is present then the end panels are unpainted.
For sheet metal components that make up the Discharge Plenum Section, contact Daikin McQuay Parts to
insure correct liners, insulation and hardware are ordered.
Note: The RAH unit may have the main control box mounted in this section or the Supply Fan (Section F).
However, the main control box components are listed in their own section (Section N, immediately following
the condenser section).
