Soil Management Groups This section of the Handbook contains information about each of the Soil Management Groups. Due to the need for irrigation on most sites, the following Available Water Storage Capacity information is provided. AWSC data is calculated based on a 90 cm soil depth except where the soils are less than 90 cm (see * below) and these are based on the actual soil depth given in the soil data files. The following ranges indicate the approximate AWSC for the soil series: >165 high, 165 to 90 moderate and
