wide, <strong>the</strong> last ra<strong>the</strong>r abruptly narrowed and rapidly pointed in nearly<br />

apicalihalf ; prothorax two-fifths wider than l<strong>on</strong>g, slightly swollen at <strong>the</strong><br />

sides behind <strong>the</strong> middle, <strong>the</strong>nce rapidly narrowing to <strong>the</strong> base which<br />

is much narrower than <strong>the</strong> apex, unimpressed, ra<strong>the</strong>r str<strong>on</strong>gly,<br />

densely, vernacularly rugose, more finely medially; elytra about a<br />

fourth wider than <strong>the</strong> prothorax, scarcely twice as l<strong>on</strong>g as wide,<br />

parallel and straight at <strong>the</strong> sides, abruptly rounding and very obtuse<br />

at apex, not very finely, extremely densely punctate, <strong>the</strong> raised lines<br />

as in moestum; fifth ventral shorter than <strong>the</strong> fourth, rounded. Length<br />

entirely covering <strong>the</strong> abdomen, parallel, arcuately narrowing in<br />

nearly apical third, finely, very closely but not densely punctate,<br />

<strong>the</strong> intervals generally subequally and feebly costuliform, shiningunder<br />

surface minutely, not closely punctate, with <strong>the</strong> hairs ra<strong>the</strong>r<br />

with <strong>the</strong> outer six joints less c<strong>on</strong>siderably shorter than <strong>the</strong> fifth<br />

than in <strong>the</strong> preceding; prothorax ra<strong>the</strong>r less than <strong>on</strong>e-half wider<br />

than l<strong>on</strong>g, widest and str<strong>on</strong>gly rounded at <strong>the</strong> sides at or very near<br />

<strong>the</strong> middle, and not posterior <strong>the</strong>reto as in <strong>the</strong> preceding, feebly<br />

impressed medially and with a very faint impressi<strong>on</strong> at each side of<br />

<strong>the</strong> medial sufficiently evident, <strong>the</strong> granules unusually large and<br />

c<strong>on</strong>spicuous, <strong>the</strong> general surface polished; scutellum rounded, shin-<br />

ing, finely and loosely punctate; elytra more than twice as l<strong>on</strong>g as<br />

wide but exposing <strong>the</strong> very narrow and subtruncate last dorsal, not<br />

wider than <strong>the</strong> prothorax, very minutely and closely but not densely
