Blue faience, much bubbl<strong>in</strong>g on face <strong>and</strong> chest.<br />

Chip <strong>of</strong>f right elbow.<br />

Simply modelled with <strong>in</strong>dist<strong>in</strong>ct facial features; right arm crossed over left.<br />

Black pa<strong>in</strong>ted details - two hoes, full eyes, no eyebrows or headb<strong>and</strong>.<br />

Basket simply <strong>in</strong>dicated by area <strong>of</strong> diamond hatch<strong>in</strong>g on back, between<br />

ridge form<strong>in</strong>g base <strong>of</strong> wig <strong>and</strong> ridge to <strong>in</strong>dicate buttocks.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>gle column <strong>of</strong> black pa<strong>in</strong>ted text down front, no borders.<br />

Pale brown clay covered with greenish wash <strong>of</strong> pa<strong>in</strong>t, now miss<strong>in</strong>g from<br />

part <strong>of</strong> head.<br />

Thick modell<strong>in</strong>g, the arms <strong>and</strong> face small <strong>in</strong> relation to overall size <strong>of</strong><br />

piece. Ch<strong>in</strong> juts out quite prom<strong>in</strong>ently. Arms crossed right over left.<br />

Black pa<strong>in</strong>ted details - two hoes, full eyes, eyebrows, headb<strong>and</strong> with<br />

fillet. Diamond- hatched trapezoidal basket with two straps.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>gle column <strong>of</strong> black pa<strong>in</strong>ted text down front, no borders.<br />
