Red terracotta.<br />

Some pa<strong>in</strong>t worn away.<br />

Fairly crude modell<strong>in</strong>g. Flat back, curved foot so unable to st<strong>and</strong><br />

by itself.<br />

Polychrome decoration - back <strong>and</strong> legs white with red b<strong>and</strong>s;<br />

upper body, arms <strong>and</strong> face <strong>in</strong> yellow; full eyes <strong>in</strong> black <strong>and</strong> white,<br />

with eyebrows; nose <strong>and</strong> mouth <strong>in</strong> red. Wig faded solid black.<br />

Collar crudely <strong>in</strong>dicated by red <strong>and</strong> black l<strong>in</strong>es. Arms <strong>and</strong> h<strong>and</strong>s<br />

picked out <strong>in</strong> red with black bracelets. Two hoes <strong>in</strong> red.<br />

Trapezoidal basket <strong>in</strong> yellow with red outl<strong>in</strong>e <strong>and</strong> square<br />

hatch<strong>in</strong>g, two loops <strong>and</strong> straps. Lower part <strong>of</strong> wig at back picked<br />

out <strong>in</strong> red over yellow.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>gle column <strong>of</strong> black pa<strong>in</strong>ted text down front on yellow ground,<br />

borders at side <strong>in</strong> red.<br />

Faience, discoloured to dirty white.<br />

Re-jo<strong>in</strong>ed across waist.<br />

Very crudely modelled with few dist<strong>in</strong>guishable features.<br />

Black pa<strong>in</strong>ted details - two hoes, simple eyes, eyebrows, headb<strong>and</strong><br />

with fillet. Trapezoidal basket with diamond hatch<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> two<br />

shoulder straps.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>gle column <strong>of</strong> black pa<strong>in</strong>ted text, now reddish <strong>in</strong> colour, down<br />

front, no borders.<br />
