will be recalled to-day by thousands of<br />

men and women, and at this mere men-<br />

tion the lines will echo and reecho through<br />

the chambers of their memories. Katha-<br />

rine's one flash of indignation at the rude-<br />

ness of a messenger — queenly wrath, for<br />

an instant clearing her voice and lifting<br />

her form — made more effective the rapid<br />
