NCM: Mercosur Common Nomenclature.<br />

NIC: Cargo Identification Number.<br />

Primary zone: port, airport or border facilities under the supervision of the Internal<br />

Revenue Service.<br />

Pro Forma Invoice: preliminary document reflecting negotiations between importer<br />

and exporter<br />

PSCI: Program for the Competitive Substitution of Imports<br />

Secondary zone: place where imported goods are s<strong>to</strong>red, located outside the port,<br />

airport or border facilities.<br />

TEC: Common External Tariff applied by Mercosur countries on imports originating<br />

from third-countries.<br />

Trade agreement: agreement signed between two or more countries reducing trade<br />

barriers between them.<br />

Transhipment: transfer of goods from one means of transportation <strong>to</strong> another.<br />
