venerated symbol in many Asian
cultures, associated with rebirth
and purity. Our graceful watch
adapts the flowers seen in Lotus
and Kingfisher, a 20th-century
Chinese hanging scroll in the
Museum’s collection. 18K gold

Louis C. Tiffany, Magnolias and Irises,

A. NEW MAGNOLIA BLOSSOMS WATCH
From his beginnings as a painter, Louis C. Tiffany
(American, 1848–1933) moved quickly to interior
decoration, creating innovative types of glass
with which he “painted” luminous windows and
lampshades. His glorious Magnolias and Irises
window in the Museum’s American Wing is the basis
for the pattern of this captivating watch. 18K gold

IT’S SPRING
TIME
D. NEW QING ROSE SCROLLS
WATCH During the Qing (“pure”)
dynasty (1644–1911), Chinese porcelain
reached its peak of excellence. Skillful firing
achieved subtle and elegant glazes. Our watch dial
is based on a Qing porcelain dish (1796–1820)
with rich crimson scrolling on a rose-colored enamel
ground. Produced in cooperation with the Victoria
and Albert Museum, London. 18K gold overlay with
hand-enameled case. Ceramic dial. Silicone strap.
