Plant shutdowns and associated costs as<br />
well as maintenance costs do not apply<br />
with the ecoresinator. the nozzles, installed<br />
on the outside of the blowline, also<br />
correspond to the motto “Cut your costs”:<br />
the abrasion inside the traditional blowline<br />
caused by the fibers no longer takes<br />
place, and thus the lifetime of the nozzles<br />
is increased. to sum it up, the ecoresinator<br />
stands for low investment costs, short<br />
assembly times and negligible operating<br />
costs on one side and enormous resin<br />
savings and optimal surface quality on the<br />
other. this concept has recently convinced<br />
another large european HDF manufac turer<br />
and long-term siempelkamp customer.<br />
Ecoresinator retrofit:<br />
a progress report<br />
For its HDF plant made by siempelkamp<br />
this plant operator ordered the new<br />
eco resinator back in the beginning of<br />
2012. A year and a half prior to this investment,<br />
the company had carried out a<br />
different optimization to its eight-year-old<br />
blowline. this optimization, however, did<br />
not bring the desired results so that the<br />
customer turned to siempelkamp for help.<br />
First-class performance – the operators<br />
conferring<br />
With the experience gained by assemblies<br />
and start-ups from prior orders at starwood<br />
in turkey and Jianfeng in China,<br />
siempelkamp experts started the installation<br />
of the system at this european HDF<br />
manufacturer in July 2012. In only a short<br />
time the system was installed – long shutdown<br />
times and unnecessary costs were<br />
avoided for the customer. these time<br />
savings are a result of the modular design<br />
of the ecoresinator.<br />
the ecoresinator is supplied as a ready-toinstall<br />
complete blending system including<br />
switchgear cabinet and automation software.<br />
the experiences collected from prior<br />
installations of the ecoresinator led to the<br />
decision to sell the system as a modular<br />
design concept.<br />
siempelkamp has optimized its ProdIQ ®<br />
system. Production data is easily monitored;<br />
optimization measures of the production<br />
process can be administered in<br />
a targeted manner if needed. the selfsufficiently<br />
operating ProdIQ ® system<br />
monitors the functionality of the blending<br />
system as well as the distribution of the<br />
steam, water, and resin. For the customer<br />

this results in additional personnel savings:<br />
no operator is needed to start or stop<br />
the system or for possible throughput<br />
malfunctions – the monitoring takes place<br />
automatically. thus, the system guarantees<br />
high plant safety, availability, low<br />
maintenance, and an optimal, always<br />
monitored, resin distribution.<br />
the plant operator whose plant was<br />
recently equipped with the innovative<br />
system is convinced of the ecoresinator<br />
because the results speak for themselves:<br />
the manufactured boards are spot-free<br />
and possess high rigidity. At the same<br />
time, the HDF manufacturer records resin<br />
savings in a double-digit percentage range<br />
and even predicts further optimization<br />
potential.<br />
Due to its excellent ability to reproduce<br />
results and its ease of maintenance, the<br />
ecoresinator simplifies the daily work of<br />
the production teams. Furthermore, the<br />
system opens up the opportunity to increase<br />
the production capacity for the customer.<br />
