<strong>Siempelkamp</strong>’s ties to the Eastern European countries withstood<br />
two world wars. Until 1939 Russia was one of<br />
<strong>Siempelkamp</strong>’s most important customers for plywood presses<br />
and production lines.<br />
Shortly after World War II, <strong>Siempelkamp</strong>’s competence became<br />
needed again in the East. During USSR times special presses for<br />
the aerospace industry were in great demand. the aerospace<br />
company Khrunichev in Moscow produced on <strong>Siempelkamp</strong><br />
The business relationships between <strong>Siempelkamp</strong> and our Russian customers have a<br />
historic status: <strong>Siempelkamp</strong> already supplied press lines for the plywood industry to tsarist<br />
Russia and later to the former Soviet Union. Thanks to the increasing relevance of the<br />
local wood-based products industry and the awareness that a <strong>Siempelkamp</strong> plant stands<br />
for quality, the Russian Federation has become one of the most significant customer<br />
markets for the Krefeld company.<br />
