In 2009 <strong>Siempelkamp</strong> tensioning Systems GmbH and its French<br />
subsidiary <strong>Siempelkamp</strong> MSDG SARL received the order for the<br />
modernization of eight stud tensioners (MSt) as well as one new<br />
delivery for the nuclear power plant Gravelines. the operator for<br />
all nuclear power plants in France is the association Électricité de<br />
France (EDF).<br />
the modernization package for the eight stud tensioners operating<br />
in different French nuclear power plants includes an effective update<br />
consisting of new controls and hydraulics, double turning<br />
units and elongation measuring systems.<br />
At the same time <strong>Siempelkamp</strong> signed a contract for a ten-year<br />
service package that includes all stud tensioners that were<br />
supplied, upgraded or are serviced by StS/MSDG. this is currently<br />
the largest order in the history of StS and MSDG and, at the<br />

same time, both companies will be the first in the <strong>Siempelkamp</strong><br />
Group in France that have received such a long-term<br />
service order. <strong>Siempelkamp</strong> has an established name in France.<br />
From 19 French nuclear power plants with a total of 58 reactors<br />
75 % have been serviced by StS and MSDG during the last 20<br />
years.<br />
The status quo:<br />
three stud tensioners (MSt) are already upgraded. three more<br />
tensioners will be upgraded starting in 2012. next to the six stud<br />
tensioners made by StS, the large order also includes the upgrading<br />
of two tensioners of a different make. the installation of<br />
the new stud tensioners including many new detailed solutions for<br />
the nuclear power plant Gravelines is expected to be completed in<br />
mid 2013.<br />
