courses. Work evaluated on letter grade basis.<br />

No more than one full course may count toward the<br />

M.A. course requirement . Limited to a maximum of<br />

two full courses in any graduate program.<br />

597. Preparation for <strong>Graduate</strong> Examinations. (1 to<br />

2 courses ) Prerequisite: official acceptance of candidacy<br />

by the department , and approval of graduate<br />

adviser. Individual preparation for the comprehensive<br />

examination for the M.A. degree or the qualifying<br />

examinations for the Ph.D. degree. Graded<br />

satisfactory/unsatisfactory. May be taken only once<br />

for each degree examination and only in the quarter<br />

that comprehensive or qualifying examinations are<br />
