Worldwide Harmonised Heavy Duty Emissions Certification Procedure
Establishment of a harmonised Global Technical Regulation (GTR) covering the TA procedure for HD engine exhaust emissions, adopted on Nov 15, 2006
Application: C.I. engines and P.I. engines fuelled w/ NG and LPG,
design speed > 25 km/h and max mass > 3,5 tons.
Two representative test cycles have been created covering typical driving
conditions in the European Union, the USA, Japan and Australia:
- one transient test cycle (WHTC)
- one steady state test cycle (WHSC)
The GTR does not contain emission limit values
Exhaust Emissions to be measured: CO, HC, NMHC, NOx, PM, CO 2 ,
expressed in g/kWh.
If GTR applied in a national legislation, the limit values should represent at
least the same level of severity as its existing regulations.
