Transferring positions: Teach-In mode<br />
Programming example for TEACH-IN / EDGE FINDER :<br />
Probe island and transfer positions to a program<br />
Probe the positions on a workpiece with a <strong>HEIDENHAIN</strong> KT Edge<br />
Finder. The function TEACH-IN / EDGE FINDER transfers the<br />
probed positions into a program.<br />
The Edge Finder transfers the actual workpiece<br />
positions into the program.<br />
Operating mode: PROGRAMMING AND EDITING<br />

Select Teach-In.<br />
Go to TEACH-IN / EDGE FINDER.<br />
Example: Probe and transfer position on the X axis<br />
Pre-position the Edge Finder near position you wish to probe.<br />
Select the coordinate axis for which the value is to be transferred: X.<br />
Select radius compensation for later machining.<br />
Probe in X axis<br />
Move the Edge Finder against the workpiece edge until the LEDs<br />
light up.<br />
The coordinate of the probed position is now stored in the program.<br />
Retract the Edge Finder. Probe and transfer any further positions<br />
in the same manner.<br />
