II - 3 Encoders and Measured Value Display<br />

Setting the display step with linear encoders<br />

With linear encoders, the display step depends on the<br />

• signal period of the encoder (P31.*) and the<br />

• linear subdivision (P32.*).<br />

Both parameters are entered separately for each axis. The linear<br />

subdivision can range from 0.1 to 128 depending on the signal<br />

period of your encoder.<br />

For linear measurement using nut/ballscrew arrangements and<br />

rotary encoders, calculate the signal period as follows:<br />
