<strong>the</strong> ancest<strong>or</strong> of Lydia Fitch, w<strong>as</strong> <strong>the</strong> eldest son<br />

of <strong>the</strong> Rev. James Fitch, <strong>the</strong> first m<strong>in</strong>ister of N<strong>or</strong>wich,<br />

and his iirst wife, Abigail Whitiicld. Simon Tracy lludcl<br />

and his wife settled at Scotland, Conn., where she d. 3<br />

iron manufacturer at Pittsburgh, Pa., <strong>in</strong> 1861, and w<strong>as</strong> a<br />

member of <strong>the</strong> firm of Knapp & Rudd, and w<strong>as</strong> unm.<br />

5236. William Gale, b. 2 Sept., 18U9, at Scotland, who d. 10<br />

March, 1830, unm.<br />

5237. Mary Tracy, b. 14 Jan., 1804, at Scotland. She m. 30 Nov.,<br />

1825, Earl Woodw<strong>or</strong>th, b. 12 Oct., 1802, at Mansfield, Conn.,<br />

son of Charles Woodw<strong>or</strong>th and Deb<strong>or</strong>ah Sargent of Mans-<br />

field. He w<strong>as</strong> a silversmith and jeweler, and <strong>the</strong>y settled<br />

at Spr<strong>in</strong>gfield, M<strong>as</strong>s., where <strong>the</strong>y were liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> 1861. <strong>The</strong>y<br />

had one child :<br />

Mary Ahhy, b. 21 Oct., 1832, who m. 22 Oct., 1856,<br />

John Allen Amidon, b. 13 Feb., 1822, at Hardwick, M<strong>as</strong>s. ;<br />

<strong>as</strong> his second wife. He w<strong>as</strong> a silver plater, and d. 9 Jan.,<br />

1860, without issue by her, and she w<strong>as</strong> liv<strong>in</strong>g with her<br />

parents <strong>in</strong> 1861.<br />

He <strong>the</strong>n m. <strong>in</strong> 1813, Mary Carew, b. 6 June, 1772, at<br />

N<strong>or</strong>wich, who d. 29 Dec, 1855, at N<strong>or</strong>wich Town, where<br />

he w<strong>as</strong> liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> 1863, at <strong>the</strong> advanced age of 95 years.<br />

5239. Alice Adams, b. 21 May, 1814, at Scotland. She w<strong>as</strong> liv<strong>in</strong>g<br />

with her fatlxer <strong>in</strong> 1861, unm.<br />

YI. Jonathan Rudd (1797), b<strong>or</strong>n at W<strong>in</strong>dham, Conn.,<br />

16 Aug., 1774, second son of Deacon Jonathan Rudd and<br />

Mary Tracy (431) of W<strong>in</strong>dham, w<strong>as</strong> a great grandson of<br />

Jabez <strong>Hyde</strong> (8) of <strong>the</strong> third generation. He m. 1801,<br />

Sarah Johnson, b. 11 Feb., 1774, at W<strong>in</strong>dham. <strong>The</strong>y<br />

settled at Canajoharie, N. Y., and removed to Cherry<br />

Yalley, N. Y., where she d. 17 March, 1853, and where<br />

he w<strong>as</strong> liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> 1862.
